*Please note: The Primal 3 now comes with the Minimal Cork Insole (not the pictured blue insoles in some lifestyle shots). Sorry, no substitutions.

Attention, Primal 2 enthusiasts! Get ready to refresh your footwear game with the all-new Primal 3. Designed with your feedback in mind, this latest iteration maintains many of the signature features of the Primal 2, such as a zero-drop platform and wide toe box, while also introducing exciting enhancements.

The difference is that we developed a new outsole on the Primal 3 with a wider footprint for more ground contact underneath the foot. It has a wider heel and midfoot to distribute your weight more evenly. The Primal 3 still utilizes our signature IBR outsole for a lightweight, flexible feel!

With fit and feel in mind, we've listened to your feedback and made the Primal 3 available in half sizes, because when it comes to comfort, we believe every inch counts!

Speaking of comfort, our new recycled PU insole takes things up a notch. At 4.5mm thick, its breathable materials ensures comfort in every step.

And fear not, loyal fans – while the Primal 3 boasts exciting new features, we've kept the upper consistent with the beloved Primal 2. That's right – the same unbeatable comfort you know and love, now with even more sizing options to ensure the perfect fit for every foot!

ENHANCED OUTSOLE

With its newly redesigned outsole, the Primal 3 features a wider footprint, offering improved weight distribution and stability.

WIDE TOE BOX

Unlike traditional footwear that squeeze the toes together, our foot-shaped toe box allows for maximum room giving the toes ultimate freedom to wiggle and spread.

ZERO-DROP

Places the forefoot and heel flat to the ground correcting posture, aligning your spine, and encouraging mid-foot strike.

FLEXIBLE

Made from our signature IBR outsole, the Primal 3 is an ultra lightweight and flexible option compared to traditional footwear.

    Great shoe but maybe inconsistent

Great shoe that washes well. However I bought a second pair in black and they fit different with different inserts. Laces are even different lengths.

    Great minimal shoe

This is a great zero drop shoe with just a little more sole than a barefoot shoe. I work at an ER and am on my feet 12 to 16 hours a day and I love there shoes.

+Very wide toe box. +High instep. -Dubious outsole design.

Sizing: Feet measure 10.5 precisely. Size 11 fit best. Half-size up if you're right on the line.

I have freakishly wide, square toes, and perhaps a 99th % high instep. Shoes sizing has been an exercise in frustration at best, broken shoes at worst.

These actually fit (Primal Zen also).

Not even other products in Lems catalogue fit!

Historically I have managed the high instep fine, but the VERY wide toes have been a point of grief for 30 years. It is bizarre now to have a shoe that does not fight my feet. The shape there of, at least. I'll get to the criticism later.

If you're in a similar situation and even those so called "extra wide" shoes by any other brand or make somehow still aren't wide enough, these (and the Primal line generally) are likely your last option before consulting a cobbler.

With that said, I do NOT like the outsoles.

    The heel in particular.

I have used minimal shoes with stack heights upwards 11.5mm that have more natural strike contact than these. MUCH better.

These may be zero heel drop, and have relatively reasonable stack height, but in practice these feel like heavy lug soles in-so-far-as how the blob of a heel makes anything but a heel strike gait feel awkward.

Midsole? You can do it, but expect to clomp clomp clomp.

This leads to something of a worst of all worlds situation where harsh heel strike gaits are the most natural, but being a minimalist shoe absent shock absorption to make such a gait... valid.

Not sure why the heel was made so…
