Balanced Weight Distribution
The increased overall outsole width ensures that your body weight is spread out more evenly, reducing the pressure points on your feet. This even weight distribution enhances comfort during various activities. For those with lower arches and flat feet, you will find that this is a big improvement. But for those with high arches, you may feel very little, to no difference.
Enhanced Outsole
The Primal 3 is made with our Widest Fit Last, just like the Primal 2. The difference is that we developed a new outsole on the Primal 3 with a wider footprint for more ground contact underneath the foot.
Higher Sidewalls
When examining the Lems Primal 3 from a lateral view, you may notice a visual difference — the sidewalls now wrap up higher on the sides. This is a deliberate design choice aimed at improving both fit and lateral stability. The higher side walls provide a snugger fit around the contours of your feet, cradling them comfortably.
Zero-Drop Platform
Just like the Primal 2, the Primal 3 is built on a zero-drop platform which keeps your heel and toes level, mimicking your natural barefoot position on a flat surface.

RUGGED UPPER

The upper is made of durable materials that stand up to the abuses of trails, and also daily wear and tear.

MOUNTAIN-TO-TOWN OUTSOLE

Engineered with a new, low profile, rubber tread that combines the best of both worlds: ample traction on trails, AND excellent durability on pavement.

LOW HEEL DROP

With 4mm of drop, compared to the traditional 12mm of drop, the Trailhead naturally decreases heel-striking for a more natural gait and healthier posture.

FIRM CUSHIONING

When your foot is on too soft of cushion, you end up with pain and discomfort. We've formulated a firm EVA midsole that'll keep your feet happy all day long.

One of their most comfortable shoes
I am an absolute Lems fan. I wear a size 7 in other brands, and I usually always go with the Lems recs. This time, however, I sized up. The fit is perfect, if you like a little room in the front. I have wide feet, and these still have plenty of width for comfort. I can also put orthotics in without squishing against the top of the shoe. I also love the rigidity of the outsole. I needed something with a little less flex. The retro style is fun too. Overall, I’d say they may be one of the most comfortable Lems I own (and I have probably 6 of their styles).

Love these, and wish they were wider
I knew going into these that they aren’t made as wide as say, the Chelsea boots (which I live in during winter). I love these shoes, they look great, are super comfortable and provide the extra support I was looking for (vs the Zens). My only ‘wish’ is that the toe box was wider, but I love Lems so much that I’m willing to deal with it. When I hike I just need to tape my big toe so that it doesn’t rub on the second one creating a blister.

So cute
I loved these! I had to exchange them for a larger size, the recommended half size up wasn’t quite enough for me. The whole return/exchange process was super swift and easy. I’m stoked for my new ones to come!
