Balanced Weight Distribution
The increased overall outsole width ensures that your body weight is spread out more evenly, reducing the pressure points on your feet. This even weight distribution enhances comfort during various activities. For those with lower arches and flat feet, you will find that this is a big improvement. But for those with high arches, you may feel very little, to no difference.
Enhanced Outsole
The Primal 3 is made with our Widest Fit Last, just like the Primal 2. The difference is that we developed a new outsole on the Primal 3 with a wider footprint for more ground contact underneath the foot.
Higher Sidewalls
When examining the Lems Primal 3 from a lateral view, you may notice a visual difference — the sidewalls now wrap up higher on the sides. This is a deliberate design choice aimed at improving both fit and lateral stability. The higher side walls provide a snugger fit around the contours of your feet, cradling them comfortably.
Zero-Drop Platform
Just like the Primal 2, the Primal 3 is built on a zero-drop platform which keeps your heel and toes level, mimicking your natural barefoot position on a flat surface.

Only shoes I’ve found comfort from in years
Only shoes that are comfortable enough for my shifts as a grocery store manager. Other Lem’s shoes have provided the width and fit I need to accommodate my multiple foot/ankle/calf issues, but none have also provided the cushioning to absorb the impact of walking on cement and terrazzo for 8 hours at a time. They also look good. My only quibble is that the mesh part of the uppers don’t keep out the cold. The leather, nylon, and PU provide warmth, but the mesh across the top and upper part of the sides feel like open car windows on cold days. I’ll look forward to an all leather upper version of this shoe to achieve the perfect balance. Until then, I’m very happy.

Love the zero drop and wide toe box!
I've owned a pair of the blue ones for about a year, and I just purchased a pair of black ones. My experience with these shoes has been very positive.
Before Lems I generally wore running shoes in the winter and Chacos in the summer. I would base my size on what the running shoe store told me. Me feet have grown about 3/4 of a size with about 2 years of Lems, which seems neat.
I've noticed that the threading between the tongue and toe comes loose. I wear my shoes disc golfing, which has a lot of walking and spinning on the balls of the foot and the heels, so I think that's how it happens. It's happened with both my Primal Pursuits and Primal Zens. The laces on the Pursuits do seem to come loose pretty often, which is a bit frustrating.
The zero drop and wide toe box are however much more important than a repairable thread, so I'll stick with these!
