Balanced Weight Distribution
The increased overall outsole width ensures that your body weight is spread out more evenly, reducing the pressure points on your feet. This even weight distribution enhances comfort during various activities. For those with lower arches and flat feet, you will find that this is a big improvement. But for those with high arches, you may feel very little, to no difference.
Enhanced Outsole
The Primal 3 is made with our Widest Fit Last, just like the Primal 2. The difference is that we developed a new outsole on the Primal 3 with a wider footprint for more ground contact underneath the foot.
Higher Sidewalls
When examining the Lems Primal 3 from a lateral view, you may notice a visual difference — the sidewalls now wrap up higher on the sides. This is a deliberate design choice aimed at improving both fit and lateral stability. The higher side walls provide a snugger fit around the contours of your feet, cradling them comfortably.
Zero-Drop Platform
Just like the Primal 2, the Primal 3 is built on a zero-drop platform which keeps your heel and toes level, mimicking your natural barefoot position on a flat surface.

Shoe runs small in length and toe box. Ordered the primal 3 and the trailhead shoes both in 11.5. Trailhead was visibly and the fitment about a half size to a full size smaller in size than the primals. Returned the trailhead for a half size larger than I normally wear and they fit well. Otherwise shoe feels good but would like a wee bit bigger toe box. Trailhead fits much more like a conventional shoe, but is quality and caused no blisters.

Very quick to break in. The toe box is a little bit more narrow than the other shoes that I’ve gotten from them. If the toe box was maybe a 1/4 inch wider would be perfect. Also may loosen up more with age and wearing. Overall good shoe for city or trail.

Shrinkflation?
I bought these shoes about 3 years ago and I've absolutely loved them. I've had a few minor stitch issues in the toe, but they have been really comfortable and lasted a really long time. I loved them so much, I bought another pair in hopes of getting another 3 years. The quality seems to be about the same, but alas, they are smaller. I bought a size 13 both times, but you can see that my old shoe on the right is a little bigger than the new one on the left. Unfortunately, I wore them once thinking they were the same size, and now they are not returnable. I can't give them a bad review because of how much I've enjoyed them, but I can't give them 5 stars because now I have some really nice shoes that don't fit.
