Balanced Weight Distribution
The increased overall outsole width ensures that your body weight is spread out more evenly, reducing the pressure points on your feet. This even weight distribution enhances comfort during various activities. For those with lower arches and flat feet, you will find that this is a big improvement. But for those with high arches, you may feel very little, to no difference.
Enhanced Outsole
The Primal 3 is made with our Widest Fit Last, just like the Primal 2. The difference is that we developed a new outsole on the Primal 3 with a wider footprint for more ground contact underneath the foot.
Higher Sidewalls
When examining the Lems Primal 3 from a lateral view, you may notice a visual difference — the sidewalls now wrap up higher on the sides. This is a deliberate design choice aimed at improving both fit and lateral stability. The higher side walls provide a snugger fit around the contours of your feet, cradling them comfortably.
Zero-Drop Platform
Just like the Primal 2, the Primal 3 is built on a zero-drop platform which keeps your heel and toes level, mimicking your natural barefoot position on a flat surface.

The most versatile and comfortable shoes I have ever owned
They are the perfect amount of cushion while also letting your foot be flexible. Amazing toe-room as well! Extremely worth the investment. I wear these out hiking and to work.

Absolutely love them
This is my third pair of Lems boots—not because of any issues—but because I love them so much. I have the boulder boot that is a canvas material and love them so much, but I wanted something with more grip for wet rocks. So this solved that for me; however, I do hope they will make a grip option for the softer canvas type boulder boot. Because the leather, just by being leather, feels more stiff than I would like. I’ve only worn them twice so far, so I feel as the leather will break in and be softer over time. I bought a 9 And that’s pretty consistent for me and Barefoot shoes

Grippy sole is great
The new grippy sole is great, and I wish Lems would put it on a NON waterproof version of the Boulder Boot. Waterproof boots ultimately fail for long backpacking trips, and they are HOT. Fit is narrower than the Boulder Summit, as described. I typically wear a 38 in Birkenstocks, and an 8 wide in other shoes, but I needed an 8 1/2 in these and the Summit.
