Balanced Weight Distribution
The increased overall outsole width ensures that your body weight is spread out more evenly, reducing the pressure points on your feet. This even weight distribution enhances comfort during various activities. For those with lower arches and flat feet, you will find that this is a big improvement. But for those with high arches, you may feel very little, to no difference.
Enhanced Outsole
The Primal 3 is made with our Widest Fit Last, just like the Primal 2. The difference is that we developed a new outsole on the Primal 3 with a wider footprint for more ground contact underneath the foot.
Higher Sidewalls
When examining the Lems Primal 3 from a lateral view, you may notice a visual difference — the sidewalls now wrap up higher on the sides. This is a deliberate design choice aimed at improving both fit and lateral stability. The higher side walls provide a snugger fit around the contours of your feet, cradling them comfortably.
Zero-Drop Platform
Just like the Primal 2, the Primal 3 is built on a zero-drop platform which keeps your heel and toes level, mimicking your natural barefoot position on a flat surface.

The upper is made of durable materials that stand up to the abuses of trails, and also daily wear and tear.

MOUNTAIN-TO-TOWN OUTSOLE

Engineered with a low profile rubber tread that combines the best of both worlds: ample traction on trails, AND excellent durability on pavement.

LOW HEEL DROP

With 4mm of drop, compared to the traditional 12mm of drop, the Trailhead naturally decreases heel-striking for a more natural gait and healthier posture.

FIRM CUSHIONING

Concert Approved
My first “go” at these shoes was at a concert. Standing on solid concrete for 5 hours and my feet felt great! Definitely recommend the Lem’s Trailhead Sneaker!

My new dailies
I'm really happy with these shoes and they've become my go-to for work (casual office), hiking, going out for a beer, just about everything. I bought them partially for traveling, and they'll be perfect for city walking and the type of casual to semi-upscale restaurants I usually check out. The durability seems good now that I have about 30 miles on them, the toe box is roomy, and the soles provide a ton of support for all-day walks. They're also nicely vented, which helps my feet not sweat so much. The flip side to that, though, is that they're not going to be great in the rain or other very wet environments.
