Balanced Weight Distribution
The increased overall outsole width ensures that your body weight is spread out more evenly, reducing the pressure points on your feet. This even weight distribution enhances comfort during various activities. For those with lower arches and flat feet, you will find that this is a big improvement. But for those with high arches, you may feel very little, to no difference.
Enhanced Outsole
The Primal 3 is made with our Widest Fit Last, just like the Primal 2. The difference is that we developed a new outsole on the Primal 3 with a wider footprint for more ground contact underneath the foot.
Higher Sidewalls
When examining the Lems Primal 3 from a lateral view, you may notice a visual difference — the sidewalls now wrap up higher on the sides. This is a deliberate design choice aimed at improving both fit and lateral stability. The higher side walls provide a snugger fit around the contours of your feet, cradling them comfortably.
Zero-Drop Platform
Just like the Primal 2, the Primal 3 is built on a zero-drop platform which keeps your heel and toes level, mimicking your natural barefoot position on a flat surface.

This brand new, sticky rubber outsole incorporates 4mm deep lugs for incredible traction on snow, mud, and everywhere in-between! The built in zig-zag grooves (siping) provide additional biting edges to cut into ice/snow and helps ground your feet in slippery situations.

First time Lem's buyer
Orthopedic surgeon ordered I transition to well cushioned, stiff soled mid-height leather boot at eight week post metatarsal osteotomy surgery, he was very pleased with my choice of Boulder Summit's generous toe box. I needed to size up several times in order to accommodate for inflammation, found Lem's Happy Return exchange process, as well as customer service people I spoke with to be outstanding. Hope to see more new styles offered in their widest toe box design.

Really, really like these boots!
Climbing Kilimanjaro is not on my horizon, so I wanted some boots that were comfortable and looked great. I drove to a nearby sports store to try on the Summits, but as with most shoes, they only had size 12 and 13— which I usually have to settle for. However, Lems carries the 12.5 online, which fit perfectly.
When I tried them on, I couldn't believe the wiggle room that my toes had and the first walk felt like they had already been broken in.
Only downside is they are a bit warm in FLA with the waterproof lining, but I can deal with that.
Would absolutely, positively, definitely buy again.
