PRIMAL 2 VS. PRIMAL 3 OVERVIEW

Balanced Weight Distribution
The increased overall outsole width ensures that your body weight is spread out more evenly, reducing the pressure points on your feet. This even weight distribution enhances comfort during various activities. For those with lower arches and flat feet, you will find that this is a big improvement. But for those with high arches, you may feel very little, to no difference.
Enhanced Outsole
The Primal 3 is made with our Widest Fit Last, just like the Primal 2. The difference is that we developed a new outsole on the Primal 3 with a wider footprint for more ground contact underneath the foot.
Higher Sidewalls
When examining the Lems Primal 3 from a lateral view, you may notice a visual difference — the sidewalls now wrap up higher on the sides. This is a deliberate design choice aimed at improving both fit and lateral stability. The higher side walls provide a snugger fit around the contours of your feet, cradling them comfortably.
Zero-Drop Platform
Just like the Primal 2, the Primal 3 is built on a zero-drop platform which keeps your heel and toes level, mimicking your natural barefoot position on a flat surface.

Finally, a Lems waterproof boot for rain or snow!
I'm very happy with the practicality of these boots. They can really handle rain & snow quite nicely. I love the zipper addition as well; makes it super easy to slip on and off quickly. Feels almost like a mini snowboard boot with BOA in a way. Not as beefy, of course, but feels like they're built for handling the toughest of conditions while keeping a snug fit around the foot & ankle. A welcome addition to my Lems boot collection. True to normal size.

Exactly what I needed
I have been wearing Lems boulder boots for a few years now and love the barefoot style, wide toe and zero drop. They have been a game changer for eliminating back and foot pain. So when I found out Lems had a shoe that would meet my present injury needs I was super keen.
After a bad ankle sprain (that wasn't healing after 4 months due to frequently re-rolling it) I was on the hunt for something with higher / more secure ankle support and these are fantastic! They have the wide toe box I need and you can still feel the ground (although not as much as the boulder boots). Plus the ankle support is excellent and I haven't rolled my ankle once since wearing them. They were instantly comfortable with no wear-in time, and despite initial concerns, aren't too hot for hiking on hot (30+degrees Celsius) days. It is great having the laces and zip so I can comfortably get them onto the injured foot.
My only criticism is that there isn't a vegan version. I was really conflicted buying something that wasn't vegan (haven't in over 10 years) but I had no choice sadly as there were no other options that would suit my foot needs and help support my ankle healing. I hope Lems make a vegan version soon!

Awesome boots
Love the boots! I get multiple compliments when I'm out, the zipper feature is freakin convenient, and you can tell they are well made.
My only issue with them is they don't feel like they will keep my feat warm in really cold weather. So i feel like these are an inbetweener with warm and really cold weather. I thought they were marketed as winter boots, though. I had another issue with my right boot material clumping up when it's all tied up and secure and it kinda bothers my foot, but I'm going to assume it's a foot issue and with time it should fade with more wear. Not a huge deal as i didnt notice the problem when I wore them most the day the other day.
Anyway, they are a new favorite!
