Balanced Weight Distribution
The increased overall outsole width ensures that your body weight is spread out more evenly, reducing the pressure points on your feet. This even weight distribution enhances comfort during various activities. For those with lower arches and flat feet, you will find that this is a big improvement. But for those with high arches, you may feel very little, to no difference.
Enhanced Outsole
The Primal 3 is made with our Widest Fit Last, just like the Primal 2. The difference is that we developed a new outsole on the Primal 3 with a wider footprint for more ground contact underneath the foot.
Higher Sidewalls
When examining the Lems Primal 3 from a lateral view, you may notice a visual difference — the sidewalls now wrap up higher on the sides. This is a deliberate design choice aimed at improving both fit and lateral stability. The higher side walls provide a snugger fit around the contours of your feet, cradling them comfortably.
Zero-Drop Platform
Just like the Primal 2, the Primal 3 is built on a zero-drop platform which keeps your heel and toes level, mimicking your natural barefoot position on a flat surface.

Great, but heel slippage
Love these. But they're not snug enough at the heel - at least not for my lower-end volume feet. I haven't searched for minimal shoes for a while, but at the time these were the best fit I could find without driving myself absolutely insane. It really was seeming an impossible feat to come across a pair of trail shoes that were wide enough in the toe box and fit my heel. Please offer more volume options! Also, I got the green color, which I love and is HUGELY popular everywhere I go. People love them. Make more green shoes.

Please bring back Primal 2!!!
Writing this review as my last pair of Primal 2’s has sadly died after much intensive use and as intense love. I literally lived in my 2 pairs (slate + black) for the past 2-3 years. When Primal 3 came out I got the blue one but sadly the 3 is not as good as the 2: it’s narrower, less soft and less flexible. Also the shape of the sole on Primal 3 seems squarer than the upper which is just weird/ mismatched. So sad I can’t replace my Primal 2’s 😭😭😭😭😭 Please, please bring them back - they were perfect, I would be buying them for life!

My 1st pair of LEMS
I bought these to replace my worn out Altra Lone Peaks. I love my Altras but was curious about LEMS promise of ground feel. I LOVE THEM!!!!! They are so comfortable right out of the box (as are Altras). But what my beloved Altras don't offer, is the amazing amount of ground feel while still proving plenty of protection from rocks etc. I run on road, gravel and trail and these shoes let my feet flex naturally (I had some calf muscle tenderness after the first few runs in these, meaning in was using different muscles while running in these, WIN) and i can actually feel the ground while I'm running...I feel more connected to the earth. Highly recommend!
