Balanced Weight Distribution
The increased overall outsole width ensures that your body weight is spread out more evenly, reducing the pressure points on your feet. This even weight distribution enhances comfort during various activities. For those with lower arches and flat feet, you will find that this is a big improvement. But for those with high arches, you may feel very little, to no difference.
Enhanced Outsole
The Primal 3 is made with our Widest Fit Last, just like the Primal 2. The difference is that we developed a new outsole on the Primal 3 with a wider footprint for more ground contact underneath the foot.
Higher Sidewalls
When examining the Lems Primal 3 from a lateral view, you may notice a visual difference — the sidewalls now wrap up higher on the sides. This is a deliberate design choice aimed at improving both fit and lateral stability. The higher side walls provide a snugger fit around the contours of your feet, cradling them comfortably.
Zero-Drop Platform
Just like the Primal 2, the Primal 3 is built on a zero-drop platform which keeps your heel and toes level, mimicking your natural barefoot position on a flat surface.

The single most comfortable shoes Iv ever owned. They fit like a glove and Iv never been happier with a pair of shoes

Missing the Flexibility of the Primal 2
While these may look substantially similar to the Primal 2, they are definitely not the same. I've always been drawn to the Primal shoe for the flexibility factor (which was rated 4/4 on the Primal 2). Wearing the Primal 3 is a completely different experience for me. My feet and knees immediately noticed the difference. It's disappointing that the most flexible shoe now offered is rated a 3.5/4 for flexibility (the Primal Zen) and that there are no longer any 4/4 options - which has been my whole rationale for buying Lems since 2017. I hope there will be more flexible shoe options in the future.
(I'm still including that I Would Recommend to someone else as other people may have a different experience, body mechanics or preferences than me.)

Comfortable right away
I had been wearing Altra shoes but they were wearing out too fast and not quite fitting right. I have hiked in these new lems about 20 miles now. My feet are less sore. I’m impressed and I love the plain colors and gum bottoms. Makes them look like fancy sneakers. I wear a 10 in lems but sometimes a 9.5 in other shoes.
