Balanced Weight Distribution
The increased overall outsole width ensures that your body weight is spread out more evenly, reducing the pressure points on your feet. This even weight distribution enhances comfort during various activities. For those with lower arches and flat feet, you will find that this is a big improvement. But for those with high arches, you may feel very little, to no difference.
Enhanced Outsole
The Primal 3 is made with our Widest Fit Last, just like the Primal 2. The difference is that we developed a new outsole on the Primal 3 with a wider footprint for more ground contact underneath the foot.
Higher Sidewalls
When examining the Lems Primal 3 from a lateral view, you may notice a visual difference — the sidewalls now wrap up higher on the sides. This is a deliberate design choice aimed at improving both fit and lateral stability. The higher side walls provide a snugger fit around the contours of your feet, cradling them comfortably.
Zero-Drop Platform
Just like the Primal 2, the Primal 3 is built on a zero-drop platform which keeps your heel and toes level, mimicking your natural barefoot position on a flat surface.

WATERPROOF

Rain or sun, we’re ready. Not only can you skip along streams and keep your toes dry, you can up the ante on where your travel takes you this winter, thanks to your new favorite pair, complete with a gusseted tongue.

OILED LEATHER UPPER

We’ve utilized a 100% full-grain leather with an oiled finish, that is pre-treated to be water repellent. To increase the water-repellency and extend it over the life of the shoe, we suggest using a waterproofing wax such as Otter Wax and reapplying 2-3 times per year.

IBR OUTSOLE

Our injection blown rubber outsole is what makes Lems incredibly lightweight and flexible. Deemed as the perfect travel companion, this boot can pack down to the size of your favorite puff jacket.

ZERO-DROP

My favorite boot ever
These are my second pair, definitely had to size up this time (post pregnancy) absolutely obsessed with my comfy lems. Wore them to a music festival right out of the box and didn't get one blister, walked 16-18 miles each day!

Big fan
I bought these boots in 2019. Unsure if it was “waterproof” back then. But with the boot wax they did pretty solid in wet conditions. The upper is still in great condition and they’re still one of my favorite pairs of shoes I’ve ever had.
Cons: the sole is wearing out and I wish that I could have them re-soled instead of having to buy a new pair, especially since the upper still has years of life still in them.
They really struggle in icy/slick conditions and offer pretty much no traction.

Full Size Up
I wear a full size up in these boots. (I usually wear womens 8, but I need womens 9 for these shoes.) With most shoes, my feet feel like they're in toe prison and/or on the edge of heel cliffs; But in this case, my toes are happy, and my soles are glad to have a zero-drop sole. I have not tested whether these are completely waterproof for wading through shallow water, but I have momentarily slipped into mud and water with my feet staying dry. One critique: I would prefer just a smidge more space for my toes, but these are still 100% better than my other boots' toe space and sole drop, so I'm not complaining.
