Balanced Weight Distribution
The increased overall outsole width ensures that your body weight is spread out more evenly, reducing the pressure points on your feet. This even weight distribution enhances comfort during various activities. For those with lower arches and flat feet, you will find that this is a big improvement. But for those with high arches, you may feel very little, to no difference.
Enhanced Outsole
The Primal 3 is made with our Widest Fit Last, just like the Primal 2. The difference is that we developed a new outsole on the Primal 3 with a wider footprint for more ground contact underneath the foot.
Higher Sidewalls
When examining the Lems Primal 3 from a lateral view, you may notice a visual difference — the sidewalls now wrap up higher on the sides. This is a deliberate design choice aimed at improving both fit and lateral stability. The higher side walls provide a snugger fit around the contours of your feet, cradling them comfortably.
Zero-Drop Platform
Just like the Primal 2, the Primal 3 is built on a zero-drop platform which keeps your heel and toes level, mimicking your natural barefoot position on a flat surface.

Rain or sun, we’re ready. Not only can you skip along streams and keep your toes dry, you can up the ante on where your travel takes you this winter, thanks to your new favorite pair, complete with a gusseted tongue.

OILED LEATHER UPPER

We’ve utilized a 100% full-grain leather with an oiled finish, that is pre-treated to be water repellent. To increase the water-repellency and extend it over the life of the shoe, we suggest using a waterproofing wax such as Otter Wax and reapplying 2-3 times per year.

IBR OUTSOLE

Our injection blown rubber outsole is what makes Lems incredibly lightweight and flexible. Deemed as the perfect travel companion, this boot can pack down to the size of your favorite puff jacket.

ZERO-DROP

Places the forefoot and heel flat to the ground correcting posture, aligning your spine, and encouraging mid-foot strike.

You will never find a better shoe.
I bought this pair Boulder Boots on Nov/9/2021. Today's date is Feb/13/2025.
I work in the constriction and excavating world. This pair of shoes (I call them shoes) has always been there for me. The first year they were my weekend warriors, after that they were my work attire. The cut in the left shoe was from a sheet of roof metal back when i first started issuing them for work, it didn't penetrate.
Just finished stitching the top seam and part of the inside heal. The stitching was coming unraveled. But hey, after 3 years, if all these shoes need is a new pair of laces, new pads and some stitching. They are worth your time and more!
I have yet to have another pair of work shoes last me 6 months, let alone 2 years of rugged work. Thank You Lems for such reliable footwear!!!
After I'm done with this review, I'm gonna order the Boulder Grip.

Never owned another boot this comfy.
So glad I purchased these. The fit amazing right out of the box. I sized up .5 in anticipation of doubling up on socks sometimes. They fit great and I definitely could have done my standard size if I was just wearing 1 pair of socks.

Follow the size recommendations!
I think they're great! Look great, feel great. Please learn from my example and follow the sizing recommendations though! I did not and, because of that, they fit almost too snug in the length (toes nearly pressing up against the front of the toe box). I am fortunate that they are not too small and I can still use them fine, but please follow the sizing recommendations! It may seem strange ordering a size that is 1 to 1.5 sizes larger than your usual size, but if my experience is any indication, following their recommendation of sizing up is wise especially to accommodate for socks.
