Balanced Weight Distribution
The increased overall outsole width ensures that your body weight is spread out more evenly, reducing the pressure points on your feet. This even weight distribution enhances comfort during various activities. For those with lower arches and flat feet, you will find that this is a big improvement. But for those with high arches, you may feel very little, to no difference.
Enhanced Outsole
The Primal 3 is made with our Widest Fit Last, just like the Primal 2. The difference is that we developed a new outsole on the Primal 3 with a wider footprint for more ground contact underneath the foot.
Higher Sidewalls
When examining the Lems Primal 3 from a lateral view, you may notice a visual difference — the sidewalls now wrap up higher on the sides. This is a deliberate design choice aimed at improving both fit and lateral stability. The higher side walls provide a snugger fit around the contours of your feet, cradling them comfortably.

Perfect "all day" boot for cold or wet days
I dig the simple styling of these, compared to offerings from companies like Merrell. You can dress these up if you want, or you can hike with them, or you can just wear them around the house. They're like a blend between a moccasin and a boot.
The grip they added to these is what I would call an 'urban' grip, meaning it's meant to avoid slipping on smooth, wet surfaces. And for that it's fantastic. But if you want something more hiking-focused you might consider the Boulder Summit with larger gaps in the lugs; you'll end up with fewer stuck pebbles and a better grip on rough terrain.
The exterior has a high-quality feel. The leather upper is a good balance between tough, flexible, and attractive. The inner lining is comfortable, but I can tell you right now that it will be the first thing to wear out. It's no worse than anything from its direct competitors, but don't mistake the Boulder for some rugged bespoke logging boot or whatever; this is meant to be consumed, not handed down between generations.
As usual with Lems my favorite part is the fit. They have plenty of interior volume, allowing me to wear them for extended periods of time, no problem. The zero drop heel is welcome, and the sole is my favorite kind of 'thin': thick enough to keep you comfortable on rocky hikes, but thin enough that you don't feel like you're stepping on a marshmallow. Awesome
Love these boots. I work in the trades so I'm always on my feet and hard on my boots. These hold up great. They feel like im wearing tennis shoes but tough like boots. Hopefully they'll last me a long time and I'll definitely be buying another pair when mine wear out. Also the customer service at Lems is great. I had specific requests and they worked with me in a kindly and speedy fashion.
