PRIMAL 2 VS. PRIMAL 3 OVERVIEW

Balanced Weight Distribution
The increased overall outsole width ensures that your body weight is spread out more evenly, reducing the pressure points on your feet. This even weight distribution enhances comfort during various activities. For those with lower arches and flat feet, you will find that this is a big improvement. But for those with high arches, you may feel very little, to no difference.
Enhanced Outsole
The Primal 3 is made with our Widest Fit Last, just like the Primal 2. The difference is that we developed a new outsole on the Primal 3 with a wider footprint for more ground contact underneath the foot.
Higher Sidewalls
When examining the Lems Primal 3 from a lateral view, you may notice a visual difference — the sidewalls now wrap up higher on the sides. This is a deliberate design choice aimed at improving both fit and lateral stability. The higher side walls provide a snugger fit around the contours of your feet, cradling them comfortably.
Zero-Drop Platform
Just like the Primal 2, the Primal 3 is built on a zero-drop platform which keeps your heel and toes level, mimicking your natural barefoot position on a flat surface.

Sizing is wayyyyyy off
I measured my foot and it was exactly 10 inches or 25.4 cm. I contact customer service for advice as to what size to get and they suggested a 10 to wear with a thick sock. I ordered the 10 and cannot wear it with a thick sock. A very thin wool sock is manageable but not perfect as I can kind of feel my big toe hit the top. I would have needed a 10.5 for thin sock and 11 for thick sock. Because I’m Canada, the initial duties and shipping are non refundable and I would have had to pay to send it back and then shipping and duties on the replacement all over again which is well over $100 all in. I kept them. They are really lovely boots but it is a shame that the sizing is so off and that, even knowing my exact foot size, the recommendation was not correct. As a side note - these are not true barefoot shoes given the slight uptick of the toe and the thicker sole - and the wide but not crazy wide toe box - but I knew that going in and they are a nice transition boot.
On the boxing day sale, I purchased the Chelsea waterproof and I ordered an 11 in those ones, worrying that it might be too big. Unlike the tuff boots, they didn’t come with an additional insole in case you needed help to fill the boot - but luckily I had them still from the tuff boots and slipped them in. The 11 was good on my right foot with a thick sock but my left foot is smaller. The insoles make them work. I prob could have gone with a 10.5 in these as I prob don’t want a thick sock in these…

I think I found my soul mate in boot form
Is that too dramatic? My other LEMS shoes are great too.
The leather is thick and looks very nice. The fleece lining is so soft and warm. The tread is sturdy enough for harder wear. I bought these for winter working outdoors all day. They hold up great in the cold and wet (NW Oregon winter weather). And they look nice enough to wipe them off and wear them to my office. My feet feel a little when I have to take them off at night. I wear a women’s size 8 in most shoe brands and the size 8 fits just the way I want it to.

Very Pleased
This is my first pair of Lems shoes, and I'm really liking them. They seem well made and I love the color of the dark roast leather. I'm normally a size 5.5 in other shoes, and the size 6 fits me well. My foot measured from my heel to the tip of my longest toe is about 8.5" as shown in the pictures I've included. The measurement of the insole is accurate to what the size chart says. My feet are of average medium width and I have a comfortable amount of room in them (I've been wearing them with midweight Darn Tough socks). When I want to wear heavyweight socks, I plan on removing the insole for some extra room. I wasn't sure how I'd feel about the fur, but I like it and think it looks very nice. These boots are a bit clunkier looking than I'm used to, but they're comfortable and the shape is already growing on me. I'm excited to get some good use out of these as the days grow cold!
