I will purchase each color of the outlander boot, on repeat until Lems stops their production. These went from my go-to hiking boot to my everyday, cold New England running errands boot. Zero break in period, perfect light weight and adorable look!

Military
I am a female in the military and always on the hunt for a good coyote brown boot I can wear in uniform. These check so many boxes of what I look for in boot. They are low profile and look rad. They are waterproof, lightweight, and have a large toe box. They are so comfortable whether I am in the field or sitting at my desk. Wherever I go these boots can hang. I also love that they come in women’s sizing so I don’t have to convert from men’s sizing. I did have to remove the blue tag on the side before wearing them in uniform but it came off pretty easy. I am so glad I ran across these. Thanks, Lems, for making a coyoteee brown boot for women!!

Not a barefoot shoe
As others said the boots are incredibly comfortable from the first wearing. I however have been a barefoot shoe person several years, even hiking 15-16 miles on very simple barefoot shoes (think water shoes). These boots, at least during the first week of wear are thick soled (can’t feel the roots and rocks) and stiff. I know this is the preference of most hikers, as it is believed they provide foot protection.
As mentioned in other reviews the strings may be a tad short, I skipped the second from top eyes to give plenty of string for tying.
There was a small ‘lump’ of fabric at the top edge of the tongue where it joins the shoe, I was able to fold that gusset where I wanted, it is since breaking in nicely and no rubbing or pain.
I have short very wide feet with high arches. The shoes were tight across my foot at the toes with the inner sole in, so I removed it. Maybe one day when the boots are well broken in and ‘loose’ I might put it back in. However, as a barefoot person I really don’t like the arch support in the inner sole.
As a fashion statement I love the boots, they look great with jeans or even hiking tights- and I always wear wool hiking socks with boots. I bought these for their waterproof claims as I will be spending 9 days in the woods and the weather is calling for a lot of rain. I look forward to further testing of the boot’s performance.
