Balanced Weight Distribution
The increased overall outsole width ensures that your body weight is spread out more evenly, reducing the pressure points on your feet. This even weight distribution enhances comfort during various activities. For those with lower arches and flat feet, you will find that this is a big improvement. But for those with high arches, you may feel very little, to no difference.
Enhanced Outsole
The Primal 3 is made with our Widest Fit Last, just like the Primal 2. The difference is that we developed a new outsole on the Primal 3 with a wider footprint for more ground contact underneath the foot.
Higher Sidewalls
When examining the Lems Primal 3 from a lateral view, you may notice a visual difference — the sidewalls now wrap up higher on the sides. This is a deliberate design choice aimed at improving both fit and lateral stability. The higher side walls provide a snugger fit around the contours of your feet, cradling them comfortably.
Zero-Drop Platform
Just like the Primal 2, the Primal 3 is built on a zero-drop platform which keeps your heel and toes level, mimicking your natural barefoot position on a flat surface.

Don’t Leave Me!!!
These are my favorite shoe for work and exercise for over ten years. It’s all I’ve worn other than sandals and my barefoot boots for winters.
Please don’t discontinue! I am beyond disappointed.

Best shoe ever
This is my second pair of Primals and certainly not my last! These were purchased in June of 2019 and it is now September 2024. I wear work shows (also Lems) during the week so that probably helped with the long life but these are my "everyday" shoes and they are the most comfortable thing I have ever put on my feet. Besides the great quality, I love how wide they are, giving my fee plenty of room and the zero drop is a must. The sole is just the right thickness for durability and protection while also giving me plenty of ground feel. These have seen better days and I will be getting the Primal 3 very soon.

Be sure of your use case
I purchased these in the first half of 2022. I walk on paved roads mostly, averaging 2-3 times a week and 2-3 miles per walk. The right heel had a hole in it after about 18 months. I keep reading that people replace their shoes about every 500 miles, but that's due to foam compression etc, not the bottom wearing out. I find these very comfortable, and they let me feel connected with the ground, but I wish I didn't have to spend $45 a year for barefoot walking shoes. I have 2 pairs of 9to5 that I purchased in 2020 that are still in good shape and my job is standing/moving 95% of the time. Perhaps I need a different shoes for the type of walking I do. I would recommend these with a caveat of use case. I would recommend the 9to5, Chillums and Boulder Boots I own outright.
