Balanced Weight Distribution
The increased overall outsole width ensures that your body weight is spread out more evenly, reducing the pressure points on your feet. This even weight distribution enhances comfort during various activities. For those with lower arches and flat feet, you will find that this is a big improvement. But for those with high arches, you may feel very little, to no difference.
Enhanced Outsole
The Primal 3 is made with our Widest Fit Last, just like the Primal 2. The difference is that we developed a new outsole on the Primal 3 with a wider footprint for more ground contact underneath the foot.
Higher Sidewalls
When examining the Lems Primal 3 from a lateral view, you may notice a visual difference — the sidewalls now wrap up higher on the sides. This is a deliberate design choice aimed at improving both fit and lateral stability. The higher side walls provide a snugger fit around the contours of your feet, cradling them comfortably.
Zero-Drop Platform
Just like the Primal 2, the Primal 3 is built on a zero-drop platform which keeps your heel and toes level, mimicking your natural barefoot position on a flat surface.

The upper is made of durable materials that stand up to the abuses of trails, and also daily wear and tear.

MOUNTAIN-TO-TOWN OUTSOLE

Engineered with a low profile rubber tread that combines the best of both worlds: ample traction on trails, AND excellent durability on pavement.

LOW HEEL DROP

With 4mm of drop, compared to the traditional 12mm of drop, the Trailhead naturally decreases heel-striking for a more natural gait and healthier posture.

FIRM CUSHIONING

When your foot is on too soft of cushion, you end up with pain and discomfort. We've formulated a firm EVA midsole that'll keep your feet happy all day long.

Everyday shoe?
I'm coming from New Balance as my daily driver brand. Over the years, I've become disappointed with their build quality and longevity. Granted, I tend to wear the same shoes day in day out, so heavy use. The trailheads are my first, non returned Lems shoes. True to other reviews, the way this shoe was designed was on the smaller/ shorter side. I'm normally an 11.5, but for this pair to fit, I ordered 12.5. Fit just right! I've discovered that, at least compared to a few other shoes from other brands. So far with about a month of heavy use, I can't find anything wrong with them. The soles and stitching are in great shape so far. Love all the fun colors you can order from too. Got the brown and teal pair.

Narrow Toe Box
I tried these shoes and wanted so bad to like them, but the toe box was too narrow and hurt my big toe. I really wish these had a wide toe box like my Primal Zeus.

Looks and feels great
was looking for a lightweight shoe i can do long walks and hikes in. The 90's colored option looks amazing IMO and i decided to give it a try. They let me buy two sizes and return one with no hassle. After a few weeks the shoes still feel great. Not the widest, but not tight. Well fitting. Good traction. This isn't a hiking boot, so make sure you know what you're buying, but i don't foresee any issue hiking regular mountains (Colorado, NH, etc ) with these... Love them! I literally bought a second pair so i have them when the first are worn out, as it's rare to find a perfect shoe you love...
