Balanced Weight Distribution
The increased overall outsole width ensures that your body weight is spread out more evenly, reducing the pressure points on your feet. This even weight distribution enhances comfort during various activities. For those with lower arches and flat feet, you will find that this is a big improvement. But for those with high arches, you may feel very little, to no difference.
Enhanced Outsole
The Primal 3 is made with our Widest Fit Last, just like the Primal 2. The difference is that we developed a new outsole on the Primal 3 with a wider footprint for more ground contact underneath the foot.
Higher Sidewalls
When examining the Lems Primal 3 from a lateral view, you may notice a visual difference — the sidewalls now wrap up higher on the sides. This is a deliberate design choice aimed at improving both fit and lateral stability. The higher side walls provide a snugger fit around the contours of your feet, cradling them comfortably.
Zero-Drop Platform
Just like the Primal 2, the Primal 3 is built on a zero-drop platform which keeps your heel and toes level, mimicking your natural barefoot position on a flat surface.

Really comfortable, supportive shoes
I have worn zero drop, minimalist shoes for two to three years and ordered my usual size 11. The Primal Zen was wide enough in the forefoot area, which is where I would most likely experience a problem, but shorter than expected. My toes were right up to the front end. After experimenting, I found that the size 11 works with flat Spenco insoles, which change created a margin of perhaps 3/16". The heel is also quite snug but okay for me. As I've been wearing these, I've found the shoes take effort to get into but are very comfortable, once on, even after hours of wear. Of the similar types of shoes I've worn, the Primal Zen is the most supportive, as well as the most free of rub anywhere in the forefoot. And most impressive is the outsole, which is amazingly comfortable to walk on. Despite initial concern about size, and after changing insoles, these shoes are a pleasure to wear. However, I am considering going up a half-size on another pair, in a different color.

super comfy for my wide feet
I bought these last minute for a vacation trip that would involve lots of city walking. I had already bought another brand of shoes earlier, but one foot was too tight -- Lems delivered these quickly and as soon as I put them on; I knew they would do great. The box was plenty wide for my feet to be comfortable -- I averaged on most days during the 2 week trip +20K steps every day -- my feet felt fine in these shoes all day.
Bonus -- Didn't plan it but ended up hiking with them on muddy trails of PR8 São Lourenço in Madeira -- they got gunked up plenty with mud, but the soles height really helped.
