Based on the other reviews I had high hopes for this insoles. They arrived and initially they actually have an arch built into them, and it is higher than I am used to with lems, obviously. That said, they mostly flexed out and worked in, but I can still feel a bit of the arch in the insole. Despite the thickness, these are more firm than they are padded or supportive. It's like when your boots are about half way worn out, you can start feeling the give, but they don't hurt yet. I bought them for my boulders (grip) and they fit in just fine, and they aren't noticeable 99% of the time. Occasionally though I am aware of the arch. Of course, it may be how stiff the cork is and the way lems are designed (where the sewn marrying seam runs down under the arch but isn't actually padded properly on the sole of the shoe so you can feel it in your foot when the padding starts to wear; all the boots). I've tried them in my mid outlanders too and they are very noticeable in these (given that the inside padding is totally worn down and is basically just the upper rubber of the sole (which on neither boot has worn out on the outside mind you). I may go back to doubling up on my stock type insoles that I simply custom cut to adapt to the worn padding on the boots.
So in short, I do believe that the cork insoles are likely plenty good and my complaints really lay with the design of the shoes themselves and that I'm not a 150 lb average sized person, although I probably put on many more…
