Balanced Weight Distribution
The increased overall outsole width ensures that your body weight is spread out more evenly, reducing the pressure points on your feet. This even weight distribution enhances comfort during various activities. For those with lower arches and flat feet, you will find that this is a big improvement. But for those with high arches, you may feel very little, to no difference.
Enhanced Outsole
The Primal 3 is made with our Widest Fit Last, just like the Primal 2. The difference is that we developed a new outsole on the Primal 3 with a wider footprint for more ground contact underneath the foot.
Higher Sidewalls
When examining the Lems Primal 3 from a lateral view, you may notice a visual difference — the sidewalls now wrap up higher on the sides. This is a deliberate design choice aimed at improving both fit and lateral stability. The higher side walls provide a snugger fit around the contours of your feet, cradling them comfortably.
Zero-Drop Platform
Just like the Primal 2, the Primal 3 is built on a zero-drop platform which keeps your heel and toes level, mimicking your natural barefoot position on a flat surface.

OILED LEATHER UPPER

We’ve utilized a 100% full-grain leather with an oiled finish, that is pre-treated to be water repellent. To increase the water-repellency and extend it over the life of the shoe, we suggest using a waterproofing wax such as Otter Wax and reapplying 2-3 times per year.

IBR OUTSOLE

Our injection blown rubber outsole is what makes Lems incredibly lightweight and flexible. Deemed as the perfect travel companion, this boot can pack down to the size of your favorite puff jacket.

Great look and foot feel, yet uncomfortable above the ankle.
These boots look great, feel sturdy, and offer a nice wide toe box. While I haven't trekked in these during heavy rain, passing through shallow creeks and streams has proved that no water gets through to your feet, so long as the water is under ankle height.
The fit is great on the foot, but when laced up fully, these get really uncomfortable above the ankle. Constantly rubbing in the area of the Achilles. I started wearing these in a loose tie but that make any ankle support non existent. I would love if these were taller such as a 10 eyelet boot for example. Though for my ankle high boots, these are probably the least comfortable to wear.
Grip is pretty lack luster in wet conditions. Be prepared for a slippery step if on wet rock. On flat land, concrete and asphalt, these are pretty solid. However, during wet hikes through mud and slick stone, no thanks. For something called the "boulder boot" you'd think these would suffice through such conditions.
All in all, these look great, but when it comes down to it the most important thing is how they feel after a day of hiking/wearing and these just don't do it. After hiking, I looked forward to the moment I could take these off, where as other hiking boots and shoes, I could continue wearing and almost forget I had them on in the first place.
If you're looking for the style, these are solid. If you're looking to wear these long term, there are far superior options in the barefoot market; for far less than the asking price…

High Quality
These boots are as good as it gets! Better than many hiking boots I’ve tried. These are also great for everyday wear. I work at a custom truck shop. My only complaint was the size explanation. You definitely need to go a 1/2 size bigger but I am in a weird in between and that wasn’t clear to me till after I got the boots and stretched them out a bit.

Husband loves them! SIZE UP!
My husband usually wears a 12 in regular and barefoot style shoes (boots included). We had to order one whole size larger than usual (instead of the suggested .5 size increase). Either way, we both think they look great and seem really sturdy. Super happy with 'em.
